In addition to the other things you are focusing on, now is a good time to check in on PowerSchool and Google Classroom. Please make a list of your missing assignments and other work that is due before WOW. Then we’ll talk and make a plan about how you want to get it finished.
It is hard to focus on school as WOW approaches, but it’s important to remember that unfinished work won’t go away, and it won’t get easier in November!
We’ll be checking in about our independent reading this Tuesday and Wednesday (Days 5 and 6).
Now is a good time to think about what books you want to bring with you to read on WOW. Remember, no digital books–they don’t hold up well in the water, and WOW is device-free, so we can spend as much time as possible in the real world!
I enjoyed talking with many of you and your parents during conferences last week. The days after conferences are a good time to think about what we are doing now and how we can do better going forward.
On Monday (day 8), Wednesday (Day 1) and Thursday (Day 2), we’ll review our past independent reading goals and set new ones. We’ll also complete our October learning habits reflections.
As you know, we’ll be taking the day off on Tuesday to celebrate Dussehra, an important Hindu festival marking Ram’s victory over Ravana as told in the epic Ramayana.
